QUICK TRIP TO WEST HOLLYWOOD

It’s no secret I love LA. It’s fun, it’s exciting, it’s BIG! There’s so much to do and so many places to visit, this trip was all about West Hollywood, good friends and one of the best adventures.

Sleep

You’re going to need to make sure wherever you choose has a pool (most do!), the LA heat is intense. My top picks are the Mondrian and Petit Ermitage for the complete opposite reason, one’s a party and one’s an escape!

The Mondrian – The hotel’s bio says it all! It’s a “place to see and be seen. It’s where glamour and fantasy prevail,’ and this perfectly sums the place up. SCENE: If you’re after peaceful sleep-ins and discreet tanning by the pool, this place isn’t for you. Instead, picture itsy-bitsy-teenie-weenie polkadot bikinis, white teeth, thumping beats, poolside cocktails. Alessandra Ambrosio was perking by the pool (with her security) as we were checking in.

Petit Ermitage – The perfect escape and oasis in the heart of West Hollywood. Privacy is key this boutique hotel which is a godsend after a more than a few late nights. The guest only pool was a dream after the Mondrian (which seems to have the most amazing pool parties on most days).

Eat

EP/LP – Owned by two Australian restauranteurs, this place was magical. I couldn’t recommend it more. The open rooftop bar and views are dreamy, and if you have one meal in West Hollywood this is the place to have it.

Dinner at Everleigh – A great place to start a night! The most attentive moustached man serving up arguable the best margaritas I’ve had in a long time.

Sugar Fish – Sugar fish is a religion in LA and I have to agree. I love sushi but this place was a whole other level. Trust me, you will find yourself going back more than once!

Laurel Hardware – Hip farm-to-table restaurant in former hardware store serving New American fare & fancy cocktails. Get a big group, some DELICIOUS share plates and sample the entire cocktail menu (it’s BIG!)

Party

Chateau Marmont – First and foremost, start the night with a cocktail or ten here. Famous and infamous, it is LA personified and a MUST!

Hyde on Sunset – To quote one of my close friends who was with us, Oscar “It’s probably not a good idea to attempt  a group selfie with Turtle from Entourage while he’s standing against a urinal!”

Blind Dragon – Hidden on the sunset strip (from memory we entered via a car garage) Blind Dragon is an Asian-inspired lounge with private karaoke suites. This has every ingredient for an unforgettable night. We started the night in the karaoke room and stumbled out to an electric dance floor grinding to old school hip-hop. There’s every possibility you’d bump into Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and other notable Hollywood A-listers.

Warwick – Venture to Hollywood to Warwick for true night out. For the Instafamous, Warwick is a regular spot to be seen. Think Nick Bateman, Nicole Scherzinger (Pussycat Dolls), Kellan Lutz and every other celebrity out for a good time. The table service are always one step ahead of you with drink refills and more often than not you’ll end up at a house party close by!

TIP: Runyon Canyon is a must for every visit to LA. An active hike that turns into a meet and great for locals and tourists alike. So put on your best ‘active wear’ and get those buns on fire…
