Whether you’re packing for a weekend away, or for your overseas getaway, editing your wardrobe into the confines of a suitcase is never easy. Here are my six top tips for what to pack for smart travelling and how to achieve both comfort and style when you’re on the road or in the sky.
The Graphic Sweater
Pack a statement sweater that takes you from your workout to the weekend. Anything Helmut Lang is a winner. I always opt for a grey or white, they are trans seasonal. Pick one you can wear with your leggings, or with denim and heels for night.
The Statement Sneaker
A new city, weekend away, often means exploring and walking. Comfortable shoes are essential. If the day gets away from you and you’re still wearing your kicks for dinner, statement sneakers with print and polish are key. My absolute favourites are the NIKE Fingertraps.
In transit to anywhere is a wonderful time to listen my favourite podcasts or music. So travel in style and sport stylish headphones. My Parrot headphones are a godsend. Noise cancelling, stylish and size effective.
The Stylish Support
Amongst a suitcase full of jeans, heels and dresses, you need 1 pair of pants that are all comfort but have a stylish off-duty look. My staples are the ZANEROBE flight pants. Drop crotch with a slim leg but in a fleece or specialty fabric. Not just for the boy, ladies grab a size 27 or 28 and you won’t want to travel in anything else. Wear them for your workout, or mix them with your statement sweater, kicks and shades and work off-duty at it’s best.
The Cool Carry-All
Travel hands free with the perfect backpack. The Rains backpack is practical, sleek, stylish and cut from durable black waterproof fabric in a simple design with pared-down branding and strong hardware.
So Fresh and So Clean
Whether you travel by plane, train or car, first-class skin and hair products make all the difference on arrival. Aesop has the most amazing small, eminently portable Jet Set Kit that contains all you need to smooth your passage.
